Duties of Authors
Authors are required to submit original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration or review by another journal. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is considered unethical.
Authors must ensure that research data are presented accurately and honestly, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation. All sources cited in the manuscript must be properly acknowledged to avoid plagiarism.
Before publication, authors are strongly encouraged to carefully review the final version of their manuscript. If authors wish to withdraw or retract a manuscript, they should contact the editorial team as early as possible and before the publication process is completed.
If the research involves human participants, authors must protect the confidentiality and privacy of participants’ data. Identifiable personal information should not be disclosed, and ethical considerations must be observed to prevent legal or ethical disputes.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers play a vital role in assisting editors in making editorial decisions and in improving the quality of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, clear, and objective feedback to authors.
Reviews must be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate. Reviewers should clearly identify sections of the manuscript that require improvement and support their evaluations with scholarly arguments.
If reviewers feel unqualified to review a manuscript due to differences in expertise, or are unable to complete the review in a timely manner, they should notify the editors promptly. Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
Reviewers are required to disclose any conflict of interest before accepting a review assignment to prevent bias in the publication process.
Duties of Editors
Editors have overall responsibility for the journal’s editorial content and publication decisions. The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial screening to determine whether a manuscript fits the journal’s scope. Section Editors appointed by the Editor-in-Chief are responsible for selecting appropriate reviewers.
Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on religion, race, gender, citizenship, or political beliefs of the authors.
Editors are required to maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished material for personal research. Ensuring the originality of submissions and communicating with authors regarding the progress of their manuscripts are among the editors’ key responsibilities.
Duties of Publisher
The publisher of El-Mahara: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Arab is responsible for supporting the dissemination of scholarly work and safeguarding authors’ intellectual property rights. The publisher facilitates the processes of manuscript submission, peer review, revision, correction, and retraction in accordance with ethical standards.
The publisher ensures that published research is accessible to the academic community and the wider public, and that ethical issues related to publication are handled transparently and responsibly.
