Author Guidelines

El-Mahara: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Arab is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year since October 2023, focusing on Arabic language education, Arabic linguistics, and Arabic literature. The journal aims to promote scholarly understanding of Arabic studies and its contemporary developments through research articles, theoretical studies, and book reviews.

The journal invites contributions from scholars and researchers in Arabic education and related fields. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Each submission undergoes editorial screening and blind peer review. Manuscripts that do not follow the journal format or word limit may be rejected without review.

Articles may be written in English, Arabic, or Indonesian, with a length of approximately 3,000–7,000 words, including references, tables, and appendices. Each manuscript must include an abstract of 100–150 words and three keywords. The journal follows the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition, full note system).

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format via the journal submission system. All submissions should use proper academic citation practices and follow the journal template provided.

General Submission Requirements

Authors must register and submit manuscripts through the journal’s online system. For submission issues, authors may contact the editorial office via email.

Title should not exceed 12 words. Author names must be written without academic titles. Institutional affiliation must be complete, including department and faculty. The corresponding author must include a valid email address.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should be a concise summary of 100–150 words describing the purpose, method, and findings of the study. Each manuscript must include three keywords separated by semicolons.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should include: Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References. The introduction should clearly present background, research gaps, objectives, and contributions of the study. Literature review should be integrated and not overly extensive.

The Method section must clearly describe participants, design, instruments, and procedures to allow replication. The Results section should present findings clearly and concisely, while the Discussion should interpret findings, compare with previous studies, and highlight theoretical and practical implications.

The Conclusion should summarize the main findings and answer research objectives, without repeating the abstract. Future research directions may also be included.

Submission Process

Manuscripts are submitted online through the journal submission system. Authors must complete metadata, upload manuscripts, and attach supplementary files if required. The corresponding author will receive submission confirmation and can track manuscript status online.
