Author Guideline

Bidayah: Journal of Islamic Education is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year. The journal focuses on Islamic Education studies, including curriculum development, teaching and learning strategies, educational management, and other relevant fields within Islamic education. The journal aims to provide a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to disseminate research-based articles and scholarly works that contribute to the advancement of Islamic education.

The journal accepts original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration in other journals. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by editors and reviewers. Manuscripts that do not follow the journal guidelines may be rejected without further review.

Manuscripts may be written in English, Arabic, or Indonesian, with a length of approximately 3,000–7,000 words, including tables, figures, references, and appendices. Each manuscript must include an abstract of 100–150 words and three to five keywords.

All submissions must be uploaded through the journal’s online system at the following address: https://darelmahara.org/index.php/elmahara/index. If authors encounter any difficulties during submission, they may contact the editorial office via email.

General Author Guidelines

Authors must register and submit manuscripts through the OJS system. During submission, authors are required to complete metadata, including author information, affiliations, and corresponding author details. Communication regarding manuscripts will be conducted through the system and email.

The manuscript must be written using a standard academic format and prepared according to the journal template. Authors are advised to use the official manuscript template provided by the journal.

Manuscript Structure

Each manuscript should include the following elements: title, author(s) name, affiliation, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, and references.

The title should be concise and not exceed 12 words. Author names must be written without academic titles. Affiliations must include complete institutional information. The corresponding author must include a valid email address.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should provide a clear and concise summary of the study in 100–150 words. It should briefly explain the purpose, method, and main findings of the research. Each manuscript must include three to five keywords separated by semicolons.

Introduction

The introduction should present the background of the study, research problems, objectives, and theoretical framework. Authors should include a brief literature review highlighting previous studies, identifying research gaps, and explaining the novelty of the study. The introduction should end with a clear statement of research objectives.

Method

The methodology section should describe the research design, data collection techniques, research instruments, and data analysis procedures in sufficient detail to allow replication of the study. For qualitative or quantitative research, authors should clearly explain the research approach, participants or data sources, and analytical methods used.

Previously established methods may be cited with appropriate references, while only relevant modifications should be described in detail.

Results and Discussion

The results section should present research findings clearly and concisely without excessive repetition of data. Tables and figures may be used to support the presentation of results.

The discussion section should interpret the results in relation to the research objectives and existing literature. Authors are expected to explain the significance of the findings, compare them with previous studies, and highlight the contribution of the research to the field of Islamic Education.

Authors should avoid repeating results in detail and instead focus on interpretation, implications, and scholarly analysis. Limitations of the study should also be acknowledged.

Conclusion

The conclusion should directly answer the research objectives and summarize the main findings of the study. It should not repeat the abstract or results but instead highlight the contribution of the research, its implications, and possible directions for future research.

Citation Style and References

The journal uses a citation style consistent with Chicago Manual of Style (author-date or full note depending on manuscript type). Authors must ensure consistency between in-text citations and reference list.

All references must be accurate, complete, and include relevant publication details. Authors are responsible for the correctness of all citations.

Review Process
